Financial Freedom is NOT about your Bank Account

@

Everywhere we turn someone tells us that once we achieve a certain dollar amount in passive income or savings or cash in the bank, then we can relax because we have finally arrived at that ultimate destination – Financial Freedom.

It couldn’t be further from the truth. We could have $100 in the bank or $100 million in the bank and still not feel financially-free. Why? Because financial freedom has nothing to do with the dollar amount in our bank account.

Financial freedom comes from what we believe about this idea called Money. If we believe that money is limited, scarce, and we have to compete and struggle for it, we will never be or feel financially-free.

Let’s use water to explain this. We have a water faucet in the kitchen. Whenever we need water, we turn it on and it delivers water. And it never runs dry. So we may not have a glass of water in our hands right now, but we know that we can access water whenever we need it. We don’t believe water is limited or scarce and that we have to struggle for it. So, we are “water-free.”

The same concept applies to money. Let’s say we need a certain amount of money to purchase a desire. And we don’t have this dollar amount in our bank account at this moment. In this situation, there are 2 types of people and subconscious reactions:

One of these two people believes he can never get the money he needs. The second person believes he absolutely can get this money or any future money he needs at its right time. Both people may have the exact same dollar amount in each of their bank accounts. But only the second person is financially-free.

The individual who learns how to turn on the money faucet when money is needed is financially-free. She doesn’t need to store the money in a bank account to be or feel financially-free. She simply walks over to her inner faucet and turns it on.

That’s real Financial Freedom.

Napoleon Hill’s Thought + Positive Emotion

@

In Napoleon Hill’s inspirational classic “Think and Grow Rich,” he asserts that we must add intense positive emotions (like love and faith) to the thought of our desire in order for us to successfully achieve that desire.

This is a concept that a lot of people have trouble understanding and implementing. How do we add intense emotions like faith or white-hot burning passion to a thing like a thought? Hill does teach us that we must repeat positive affirmations regularly to our subconscious. However, a lot of people have trouble successfully doing this.

Well, the answer to this problem lies in taking a small step backwards. Step back and take a closer look at the desire. When we have something we are truly passionate about and truly desire, we have intense positive emotions about it. The thought of that passion comes with its own built-in positive emotions. We can’t help but want to get involved in the passion. We don’t need to imbue this thought with any positive emotion such as love. Love is already there.

Even an initial lack of faith in ourselves can’t stop us from going after this desire. Our love of it, our passion for it, overrides everything else.

So, if we desire something but we are finding it difficult to feed positive emotion to the thought of it, chances are it’s not the right desire for us. Maybe we believe we should want that desire. But if we have to work to get passionate about something, then step back and look at it again. It may be time to shed the desire, let it go, and allow room for the right desire to come in.

Finally, note that when a desire is not right, we will shed the thought easily. We won’t struggle to get rid of it. It will fall off of our shoulders like a coat, which is not our real physical body. It was never the real us. It was covering the real desire in us. Just let it go.

What is Wealth?

@

We often assume that Wealth is Money. But in the book “The Wealth in Questions” and on this blog, we must understand that money is just one form of wealth – Financial Wealth. To describe the other 3 forms of wealth, allow me to re-publish a quote from the book that explains this:

“Wealth has many forms. If we give love to someone, even if that someone is ourselves, we are sharing our Spiritual Wealth with this person. If we learn something from somewhere or someone, we acquire Mental Wealth. If we are physically healthy, we are blessed with Physical Wealth. We are each born with some form of wealth. But more importantly, this means that we are wealthy right now.”

This is Wealth.

And in order for Wealth to grow, it must flow – Give Wealth, Receive Wealth.
